The Truck of Texas is the top honor awarded to a new truck each year at the Texas Truck Rodeo. The annual event is hosted by the Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA), a Texas-based non-profit organization, which is composed of automotive journalists. The most recent fall event, which was the 31^st annual event, was held at Eagle Canyon Raceway in Decatur, TX.

How is the Winner Selected?

The Texas Truck Rodeo was designed to give automotive journalists a chance to experience new trucks and SUVs, all in one place. The trucks and SUVs from the world’s top manufacturers are put through a series of street and off-road trials to put their performance to the test. According to TAWA President Cory Fourniquet, “The Truck of Texas award is prestigious and competitive, and the Tacoma has truly earned the title.
