Chase Briscoe Earns Toyota Its First Daytona 500 Pole Position

There has been a monumental first for Toyota. Chase Briscoe piloted a new Toyota Camry to the first Daytona 500 pole position in Toyota history. Casey Toyota is sharing all the exciting details.

Chase Briscoe, who is a Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) newcomer, had the quickest speed in both qualifying sessions at the Daytona International Speedway. He took to the track in the No. 19 Bass Pros Shop Toyota Camry XSE. He finished his second round in 49.249 seconds, giving him the top starting spot.
Daytona 500 Pole Position
Briscoe’s phenomenal runs helped him earn the first Daytona 500 pole position for Toyota. “It’s unbelievable to start off with Toyota and be able to deliver them the first of anything when they’ve already accomplished so much,” said Briscoe. He also called the honor, “an unbelievable way to start off the season”.
Notable Toyota Presence
Toyota also had a considerable presence at the “Great American Race.” A total of 11 Toyota Camry XSE drivers competed in the Duels at Daytona. That was the most Toyota Racing Development (TRD) U.S.A. entries in a single Daytona 500 to date.
