All six Toyota Sequoia trims are powered by an iForce MAX® hybridized powertrain with a twin-turbocharged 3.4-liter V6 engine. The SUV’s total system output is an impressive 437 horsepower and 583 lb-ft of torque. A ten-speed automatic transmission handles gear shifts smoothly. Rear-wheel drive is standard for most models, with four-wheel drive offered as an option. The Toyota Sequoia TRD Pro trim is only available with four-wheel drive.
The Toyota Sequoia can tow as much as 9,520 lbs with the appropriate equipment. Adding the TRD Off-Road options package makes lower models nearly as off-road ready as the Toyota Sequoia TRD Pro. That suite includes hill-descent control, a locking rear differential, and a crawl mode.

Depending on the position of the rearmost seats, the Toyota Sequoia has 11.5 – 22.3 cubic feet of cargo room in the way back. Folding the third row frees up 49 cubic feet of cargo space. If you fold the second and third rows, the Toyota SUV’s cargo capacity swells to 86.9 cubic feet.
